The official step by steps on the website [1] are generally of a good
quality these days and the first place I'd start. From memory though,
selecting the installer location and bootloader location are easily
accomplished via the normal installer. As for the 12.04.2 thing, this is
just an indication that it's the point 2 release of 12.04, basically just
snapshotting 12.04 with all the upgrades at a certain point in time saving
you having to download a bunch more data. For those of you still in the
Windows world it's essentially equivalent to a service pack.
