So, you've been lucky enough to trigger not one, but two bugs during the
upgrade.  The first one (lxdm) is now out of the way, and you're now
staring at the second one (http://pad.lv/990740, looks like).

Yes, removing lxdm is not going to help here.  Try the workaround
suggested on the other bug:

  sudo apt-get install -o APT::Immediate-Configure=false -f apt python-minimal
  sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
