Error installing grub for ubuntu 12.10

I upgraded my system from 12.04 to 12.10, and package grub-pc failed to set
up.
I tried update-grub and grub-install, it didn't help.

Today I got a solution by running
  sudo apt-get purge grub grub-pc grub-common
  sudo apt-get install grub-common grub-pc
and my problem has been solved now. You can try it too, but be careful.
