Single line sftp upload

I need to find a program to upload a file via sftp using a single line
which I can put in to a script.

ncftpput would be ideal but it only supports ftp and not sftp. Using curl
to do it seems to (according to google) be problematic to get working.

Can anyone recommend a command line ftp client that will allow me to easily
upload files from the command line using a single line and supports sftp ?
