Hmm, that might have been all it was. I'm using aptitude rather than
apt, but the corresponding commands are similar.
I changed the sources.list to:
#############################################################
################### OFFICIAL UBUNTU REPOS ###################
#############################################################
###### Ubuntu Main Repos
deb http://ca.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise main restricted universe
multiverse
deb-src http://ca.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise main restricted
universe multiverse
###### Ubuntu Partner Repo
deb http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu precise partner
deb-src http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu precise partner
and then ran aptitude clean and aptitude update. Maybe all I needed to
do was to run the autoclean and update.
Maybe I'll switch back to the version I had yesterday.
