Best/easiest way to print parts of a large PDF image?

You can import pdf files into GIMP but I doubt if this is the easiest 
way to do what you want.  If you want to know how, these are the steps 
that I would use.

1.  Import the entire pdf image into GIMP.  (You might be able to import 
just a portion of the image.)

2. Using the rectangle selection tool, select the parts of the image you 
want.

3. Using FILE/Create/Create from the clipboard, create an image of what 
you selected.

4. Print from the newly created image window (FILE/PRINT).

As I mentioned before, this probably is not the easiest way to do it, 
but it is possible to do it using GIMP.
