how to control playback speed in kino?

The sudo should not have been needed if you had write perms in the 
directory you were exporting to.

OTOH, I think I was running as root when I produced the disks for the last 
wedding I shot, and my scratch dir was in /usr/movies.  The original 
footage is one another drive not currently mounted and I don't recall now 
who owned that directory.  The curse of the accumulated years at work...
