How do I disable screen blanking?

To begin with, you don't mention whether you are using a desktop or a 
laptop. Information like this is helpful in trying to solve people's 
problems.

Have you explored all the of Power Management settings? For example, 
what do you have set as the Profile to be used? Is it something like, 
"Treat this computer as always running on AC power" (or whatever the 
actual term is)?

What about your BIOS - anything there which controls power usage?
