Well it can rest in peace in the dark room :-) .

But I can say this about it: it was NOT a win-modem, and it outperformed 
other external modems I had. It was when the driver for it from Conexant 
became not-free that I replaced it with an external one. (It was nice 
not to have a modem sitting on the desk but nicely tucked away inside 
the box :-) .)
