Hi, all.

I had an interesting situation yesterday where a friend had bought a HP
box with Natty pre-installed & wanted it upgrading to Precise so I
Googled his specs & found that his machine was 64-bit capable so I burnt
him an AMD64 image & dropped by his place.

His copy of pre-installed Natty was 32 bit so him having not done
anything with the distro I re-booted from the Live CD intending to do a
clean install & was surprised to find the installer asking me if,
amongst other things, I wanted to upgrade.

Just wondering that surely the installer wouldn't upgrade a 32-bit OS to
a 64-bit one would it?

Cheers,

  Phil...
