Dual monitor doesnt work with Additional Driver

Have had similar dual monitor issues on Ubuntu Precise 12.04.

QuickFix:
drop additional proprietary nVidia driver and stick to linux "nouveau"
driver in section Hardware -> Additional Drivers.

Reboot and Test if your system is still performing well.
mine does. compiz effects etc... works just fine. Only during bootup I
do have some faulty screen, but nothing to worry about.
(Maybe older graphics cards are too weak to perform well with the
nouveau linux driver... just try it.

The better solution:
would be to adjust the proprietary driver until it performs even for
dual monitors.
Haven't had the time yet.
