And by "..the latest KDE..." you mean.....?

I am using KDE 4.8.3 (Release 501) without any problems of any kind.

Are you referring to some newer version which I am not yet aware of?

And I have been using Logitech wireless/optical USB keyboards and mices 
for some 6+ years now.
