If by "shutdown by power button" you mean "press and hold the power
button until the PC is turned off" (the equivalent of "brutally pulling
the plug", that's probably not a good idea. According to Murphy's Law,
sooner or later some problems on the hard disk can appear, especially if
the power-off happen while there is data to be written on the disk.

You can install ACPI (sudo apt-get install acpid). Your server will
detect when the power button is pressed and it will shutdown gracefully
and correctly your server.
