tweaking 12.04 to look and act like 10.04

That sounds appealing to at least one 10.04 user facing an eventual
upgrade. :-) It would be very nice to know the details of how to do
that. If you, or others, could fill in the details, it would be very
much appreciated.

Would be even better on the Ubuntu site, but that's probably very
politically incorrect. :-)
