Just out of curiosity - why not?

At the end of the day, both do the same thing: a kernel module uses
the CPU's hardware virtualization extensions to run one OS as a guest
under the other.

Personally, I find VirtualBox a great deal easier - but then my CPU
doesn't have H/W VT so I can't use Xen or KVM. My choices are
VirtualBox or VMware. I run both - VBox for Windows-under-Linux and
VMware for OS/2-under-Linux. I do Linux-under-Linux on both, depending
on whether I need physical disk access or not - VMware makes this
easy, whereas under VBox it's tricky.
