hmm, seems you are right (from teh changlog):

  * debian/patches/nodisplay_autostart.patch:
    - Don't show in "Startup Applications" (LP: #803917)
  * debian/patches/onlyshowin_unity.patch:
    - Add Unity to OnlyShowIn (LP: #803519)

sorry then, though the removing of the package should still work and
solve the issue Ric had.
