Yes, I definitely understand. Unity can be quite confusing for new
users, especially after having gotten used to GNOME 2.x. IMO, Mate is a
fantastic, stable desktop environment. You should be able to continue
using Mate, and perhaps, if you want to, have Unity there in case you
have a bored, dull afternoon, and want to play around with Unity a
little. Just a thought :)
