Hi, I'm having trouble getting the wifi working on Acer Travelmate 2450
which supposedly uses ath5k
The driver was working fine on Ubuntu 9.10, but stopped working as soon as
we upgraded the machine to 11.10

What we've tried so far is to blacklist the ath5k driver in
/etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf and setup ndiswrapper using a windows XP
driver for it. Doing this, we manage to see the wifi networks, but can't
connect to any of them (using the KDE network manager).

After blacklisting the ndiswrapper, restarting again and trying to svn
checkout the latest version of madwifi and doing a make && make install,
there was no trace of wifi on the system whatsoever.

Have also installe wicd to see if it makes config easier, but no luck.
I case you're wondering, the wifi is working, currently running my macbook
via the wifi, just can't the Acer note book to connect via wifi.

For the last 4 days, we've tried about every blog article on the ah5k and
ath9k we could find and still it's a problem.
