This isn't really the place for that - this is the place to come to
help fix problems you're having or to work out how to do things - a
much better place to give feedback about that sort of thing is on
Launchpad.

Bug reports aren't simply for objective problems (like something not
doing what it should) but can simply cover perceived design problems.

You can file bugs at http://launchpad.net or by using the ubuntu-bug
tool. Run

ubuntu-bug <package name>

to file a bug against that package. So, if you've found a problem with
Unity you'd run

ubuntu-bug unity

and it'll ask you the questions to get relevant data for the bug report
and file it.

These (including points 2 & 3) are generally discussed at length before
the change happens, and in public. You can generally seek out the
relevant discussion if you'd like to know why these decisions were made
- much of it is on the relevant -devel lists or in the irc logs of
meetings.

Frequently it's possible to simply reinstall what you wanted to have
and carry on as before - an uninstall doesn't remove the configuration.
The deal is that this will only happen at major version releases, wich
does mean that they turn out to arrive in something of a bulk.

The choice was Gnome 3 or something else. Each of the replacements has
its fair share of detractors, and we've covered this in far more
detail than was necessary or desired on here already; please peruse the
archives.

Gnome 2 has been dropped, Gnome 3 and Unity have replaced it and
everything else that was available still is.

If you've had bad experiences, file bugs. That's the only way they get
fixed. You can also file bugs about process (against Launchpad, for
example) if you feel the process is broken.

This is sort-of necessary for bug #1 ("windows has greatest market
share"). It *is* what people are interested in. Also, there's little
point addressing mail on here to 'Ubuntu' (or even Canonical) - this
list's affinity with either is down to the fact that Canonical run the
servers hosting it. There's no (active) Ubuntu or Canonical monitoring
of it.
