How to upgrade iproute2 to the latest version?

Hi All,

Here is the my current iproute2 version on my Ubuntu box,

ip -V
ip utility, iproute2-ss111117

and here is my Ubuntu version,

Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description:    Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS
Release:        12.04
Codename:       precise

I would like to upgrade iproute2 to the latest version (12/11/2012 release). I tried apt-get update, apt-get install iproute-dev but no difference.
