Xrandr 1.2 or KMS made that example partially obsolete for use with newer 
FOSS drivers and Xorg versions run by KMS kernels. Panning replaced virtual, 
and PreferredMode replaced explicitly listed modes. Superseding syntax can be 
found in these example xorg.conf files:
