You can download the .deb directly from here:
<http://www.google.com/earth/download/ge/agree.html>

You can also use the google repository (which I prefer):
<http://www.ubuntuupdates.org/ppa/google_earth>
Follow the instruction under:
3rd Party Repository: Google Earth

For install, the package name is:
google-earth-stable

$ apt-cache policy google-earth-stable
google-earth-stable:
  Installed: 6.0.3.2197-r0
  Candidate: 6.0.3.2197-r0
  Version table:
 *** 6.0.3.2197-r0 0
        500 http://dl.google.com/linux/earth/deb/ stable/main i386 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

I tried the 7 version & encountered nothing but problems. So I recommend
that you stick with the repo 6.x version.
