If we all add ourselves to this then maybe it might happen.
/usr/bin/apt-add-repository is a python script so it should only need
someone with slightly better scripting skills than myself to submit a
patch to either do the update automatically or add a switch as
suggested by this bug.  There are likely people on this list who could
easily formulate a patch.
