JD,

I see two problems: A missing signature and a redundant source (12.04 LTS
CD).

Can you tell us - did you upgrade from 12.04 to 12.10?

Do you still have the signature error?

Follow Collin's instructions to remove the CD as a source, even if you have
12.04 installed - it is only needed for the installation.

BTW: I *never* go through the upgrade process - too many things usually go
wrong. I have my root partition (/) separate from my data and home
partitions, so I just install from fresh and choose to format only the root
partition. I always backup, but never lost any files (doing it this way
since 7.04).

I'd install the Y PPA Manager [1] to backup all sources lists (built in and
external) before the move, then install said manager as the first thing
after the fresh install and initial updates to re-activate the sources I
had, then run an update again.

I trust the apt-get mechanism completely to make a clean update / upgrade /
dist-upgrade cycle.

Hey, I might even write a HOWTO for the process...

Good luck!
