Best get the latest version of Wine from a ppa and also install
Winetricks. THAT really hot rods it. I'm running sketchup and it runs
like a scalded ape after that treatment.
https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-wine/+archive/ppa
...then sudo apt-get install winetricks
then go here and copy this page to a file
http://winetricks.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/src/winetricks
this is the latest script that you copy over your existing
/usr/bin/winetricks file ....which is just a script.
Then run winetricks. Set your audio to pulseaudio so you'll have sound
using wine config within winetricks. Test. You should get a bleep-bloop.
I am amazed how far they have gotten. Just so you know, it's 32bit. So,
attempting to run a 64bit Win application will just end in tears. :) Ric
