problems with 10.04 upgrade to 12.04

Have a look at the log files in "/var/log/dist-upgrade/". There might be 
a hint in one of the files, but I can't tell you what to look for.

Did you try these commands alreadY?

sudo dpkg --configure -a
sudo apt-get install -f

If that doesn't work, what are the error messages of these commands?
