problem printing on Canon mp250

Everything was working fine until I tried to print today.  The printer
flashes to show it is receiving a signal from the computer but then
nothing prints.  I tried removing and reinstalling the printer to no
avail.  I can not find anything in google so far that matches this
problem.  I reinstalled the drivers also to no avail.  Ubuntu 12.04 on
a Samsung NC 110.

I appreciate any suggestions.
