Laptop not resume from suspend when lid is closed

 Does it suspend/resume ok if you select Suspend via the shutdown menu

yes, the system is suspend & resume using the Fn key & power button.
But when lid is closed, it is suspended & not resume to Ubuntu
Desktop.

If the answer to the above is yes, then does it resume ok if you

I have done it. But the system still not resume from suspend. Please
suggest further.
