printer not working

 I have a USB printer
Bus 006 Device 002: ID 04a9:2617 Canon, Inc. CAPT Printer
upon firing a print the document shows processing processing............
how ever there is no response from the printer end.
The same thing works well with  M$ machine.Every thing seems to be normal
here did I miss some thing?
