Thanks for the reply. The information in the link you provided does indeed
autohide the "launcher". However, it does not do anything to autohide the
"systray", which is the bar that is glued to the top of the screen at all
times in Unity, for no good reason.
I am surprised that this has not come up before, as I doubt that I am the
only person who is bothered by that.
But thanks anyway.
BTW, I do not like Unity at all, and will continue to use the Gnome ("Ubuntu
Classic") desktop.
