If you are getting the link from the URL filed in Firefox simply 
highlight the link by double clicking on it and then r-c and COPY; then 
go to your TB post, and paste the link in the message.

Of if you have a link in a message, r-c on the URL and then COPY LINK 
LOCATION and then paste it into your message.

Done this way TB will always have the correct URL link in the final 
message. Q.E.D.
