Hi Nils ,Thanks a lot for your help.I decided to to uninstall wubi and instead installing Ubuntu using a CD.Hope it will help.

If you are running Ubuntu 10.04 LTS, you could install the package with
a name starting with "linux-backports-modules-compat-wireless-2.6.38-".
If you search for that name with your favourite package manager, you
should find the one which suits your kernel. This package has drivers
for some recent wireless devices.
If that doesn't help or if you are running a newer version of Ubuntu, I
would suggest to have a look at the trouble shooting guide [1]. And if
there is no Linux driver for your hardware, you could use the Windows
driver with ndiswrapper [2].
