Floppies seemed to me to become very unreliable. I assume this was due

if you still have any, were the ones given away as cover disks on

That was some time ago though.
In any case, the last motherboard I bought has no floppy interface. So I
can't use my 5.25 inch drives :-( The only way to use floppies now
AFAICT is to either have a USB drive or an LS-120 drive. Until the PATA
socket vanishes too.....
