You would be wrong.  Ubuntu is derived from Debian, true, but there are 
several Ubuntu only changes and patches, (example, the Upstart system 
that replaces SysInit.)  Debian repos are *not* compatible with Ubuntu, 
and therefore Ubuntu does not use Debian update servers/repos.
