New Distribution

I'm attempting to install the newest distribution, 11.10, on my iMac.  I've had no problems when I've installed previous distributions from the .iso files.  With the new 64 bit, and 32 bit for that matter, .iso file, I get a 'filesystem not recognized' by either  OS X or when trying to boot using rEFIt.  I've not had a problem in these areas in the past.

Has something changed with the format of the disc?

I tried many different things and many different downloads today to try to get a usable disc, to no avail.

Appreciate any feedback.
