11.10 doesn't see my USB printer

Yes, I can do that. I've also tried adding the printer from within
that interface.

Re-plugging the printer with it running doesn't seem to help. I've
also tried re-plugging the printer, then restarting cups. I'm thinking
the next step may be to modify cupsd.conf to ask for more debug info.
