how to add an extra logical volume during 11.10 install?

i'm probably missing the obvious but i'm installing xubuntu 11.10 on
a dual-drive laptop and, for now, all i want to do is take the default
LVM layout, reduce the size of the root LV, and add a /home LV, but i
can't seem to get to that part of the install that gives me that
choice. i was hoping one of the LVM-based "guided" install paths would
do that, but i didn't notice it.
i'm sure a fully manual install will do it, but it seems what i'm
trying to do should be possible by simply adjusting the LVs. is there
an install selection i managed to miss? thanks.
