Hi ssc1478,

Firstly, I would recommend that you change your proprietary driver to 
"version current" under Additional Drivers. I was using version 173 
prior to the upgrade and had no twinview support. This fixed it. I also 
had problems with the unity launcher (missing icons). You can try the 
following to reset unity and it's compiz settings back to its original 
settings in the terminal with unity --reset &. The ampersand (&) is 
used to put the process in the background as I have noticed that if you 
try and kill the command the desktop becomes unusable and you will have 
to logout or restart the computer.
