11.10 no longer supports PS/2 keyboards?

This motherboard has only one PS/2 port which is colored half green and half
purple, which should mean it supports either a mouse or a keyboard. 
 
I tried a PS/2 mouse and that does not work either. It's likely that the
problem lies with just this particular motherboard or type of PS/2 port.
