Reinstalled Ubuntu 10.10 it's a no go...

Ok well it is a Seagate 250gb HD an IDE type, but I also have a 500gb SATA
drive not being used as of yet...Yes the Disk Utility said that this hard
drive health is good, nothing wrong...That I had checked prior to
reinstalling 10.10...But now it still will not boot this hard drive, why I
do not know, never have I had a problem like this before...
So I am at a lose as to what too do...I've spent to many hours trying, and
yet nothing...

How are you installing Ubuntu? From a usb stick or cd?

 

Is the IDE hard drive sharing the ribbon cable with a cd/dvd drive?
