where in the boot sequence for 10.10 is sysfs mounted?

cd /tmp
gunzip < /boot/initrd.img-2.6.32-31-generic | cpio -i
grep sysfs init

That's on my Lucid machine, so you have a different filename 
for the initrd.img.
