Well, just quick check myself points out a few things:

1.) His disk has less throughout (which can cause that)
--- You can see the noticeable lag
2.) It's booting from a different disk/partition (check the UUID)

Since I'm far too lazy to do the math right now, most of the extra 5 sec
can be explained by the drop in disk throughput, there was a significant
drop.
