God is not being insulted but those who arrogated to themselves the 
right to prophecy in God's name. They are justly objects of derision, 
and they make  even genuine piety seem suspicious. Gullibility and 
self-righteousness give religion a bad name, and they are the real 
villains of this story, not their critics. And all of this is off-topic 
here, so I adjusted the subject line.
