On https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SwapFaq#What%20is%20swappiness%20and%20how%20do%20I%20change%20it? it states that the default swappiness for Ubuntu is 60 but that a value of 10 is recommended for a typical desktop application. If that is correct then why does a desktop install not assume that it is 'typical' and set the swappiness to 10? Colin
