Since you're using Ubuntu, there is a command
/home/ubuntu/myhardware.txt It's been a long time since I ran that. I
assume you want to
do cat /home/ubuntu/myhardware.txt | lpr I
can't test it right now, I don't have Ubuntu on this machine.
I ran this on a Windows machine from a live CD of Ubuntu, about 6 months
ago, whatever version was in effect then.

You can also do dmidecode | lpr

(I hope I have the syntax right, but if not, it's close, and you can
massage it in.)

The outputs are a little bit different, so do both. After you have done
that, and have the information on paper, fold it up and store
it in the bottom of the PC, so you can find it when you need it.
