Relay for spam?

If you asked me, the email sounds like a hoax.  They want you to open an
attachment but none is present?  Maybe sniped by an AV program on your
machine or more likely your email server?

Hidden proxy server?  If this scenario is true, I would more refer to it as
a hidden email server or a hijacking smtp engine.
