sound card doesn't make sound on Ubuntu 10.10 with Thinkpad W500

Hi,

I installed Ubuntu10.10 on my Thinkpad W500 box.
After intallation, I found it can not make sound, but if I plugged in the
earphone, it can make sound out from the earphone.

Does anyone know how to solve the sound card issue?
