Why gnome-terminal menu bar is missing?

Are you using the Unity interface, with the big buttons down the left
hand side?  If so, then just in case you did not realise, the terminal
menu should appear at the top of the screen (not the top of the
window) when you push the mouse up to the top.  In fact there appears
to be a bug in Unity that one cannot *disable* the menu.
