Pidgin oddity

Ubuntu at both home & office, 11.04 at home & 10.10 at office.
Pidgin on both machines, used to work fine in both places.
One at home still does.

The one at the office connects to Google chat just fine, but
for my Hotmail/MSN account it gives:

1 account was disabled because you signed on from another location:

Neither clicking on "re-enable" down near that message nor
going up to the menus and choosing accounts->re-enable
fixes this. Nor does restarting either Pidgin or the machine.

The home machine is powered off before I leave for work;
there is no active connection there.
