Ok, just for grins I re-installed the hp .run file, after removing the
installed HP stuff. Ran it, no problems. It set up just peachy. It added
an HP icon to my taskbar. Clicked on it, checked the ink supplies, which
were noted as 1/2 full. The test print looked like crap. I removed the
black cartridge and shook it. Didn't hear any liquids inside. No
telling, but it is still crappy print. Yup, did the cleaning thing, did
a test page using high resolution settings, you name it.

Yeah, maybe I shouldn't have bought an "entry level" printer, you
suppose? It's a PSC 1500. I paid $150 for it, which is a LOT cheaper
than that Teletype 43 that I paid about $800 for, new. I guess I should
have stayed with that old piece of iron, or the NEC Spinwriter. I FEEL
your pain. <sighs> Ric
